The Friends of Alexandria Catholic Scouting, Inc. (FACS) is the chartering entity of Scouts BSA Troop 680 and Cub Scout Pack 680 in Alexandria, VA.

WHO ARE THE FRIENDS OF ALEXANDRIA CATHOLIC SCOUTING?

Since its founding in 1910, the Boy Scouts of America has had a long history of partnership with the Catholic Church.  The BSA has always been respectful of the religious and moral beliefs of its chartering organizations, including religious organizations.

There is also a rich history of mutual reinforcement between parents and the BSA, whose mission is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.  The Catholic religious emblem programs, annual Scout Mass, worship opportunities at BSA camps, the Catholic scout chaplain program, and activities of the National Catholic Committee on Scouting are a few examples of this support.

The Friends of Alexandria Catholic Scouting offers parents an environment in which the scouting program is delivered in a manner consistent with the BSA’s first 100 years of existence.  We are an IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that charters BSA units guided by Catholic morals, teaching, and worldview.  All families in the Alexandria area seeking such an environment are welcome to participate in scouting with one of the units we charter!
